How Skipd analyzes a video

1. What Skipd is
Skipd is a YouTube decision filter. Before you press play, it tells you whether a video is worth your time: a WATCH or SKIP verdict, a score out of 5, timestamped key points and notable quotes. It answers one question: is this video worth it?
2. Where an analysis comes from
Every analysis starts from the full transcript of the video. An artificial intelligence (a language model) reads it and produces the structured output you see: context, key points with timestamps, quotes, verdict and score. The analysis is automated; the method is not. The rules it follows were designed, tested and are continuously corrected by the team, and every published page goes through programmatic quality checks.
3. Honesty rules, enforced in code
• The verdict and score come from the video's actual content, never from its popularity or its creator's fame. • Quotes are extracted from the transcript, never invented. • Timestamps are copied from the transcript and checked arithmetically on our servers; any timestamp beyond the video's duration is removed. • A page that fails quality checks (missing score, key points or quotes) is not published. • Nothing on Skipd is simulated: every counter you see is real.
4. Honest limits
An analysis depends on the transcript: if the transcript is poor, the analysis inherits its gaps. A verdict is a synthetic opinion built for deciding, not an absolute truth, and reasonable viewers can disagree with it. When we find an error, we correct the page.
5. What Skipd does not do
No channel pays to be analyzed or to get a better verdict. There are no sponsored links inside analyses. Skipd is not affiliated with YouTube or with the creators it analyzes.
